Sawyer’s surgery went surpisingly well. When I went back to see her in Post-Op fifteen minutes after handing her away, my heart broke though; she was so upset that they couldn’t get her heart rate below 200 and her oxygen levels above a 90. Sawyer hasn’t been a cryer, not even at birth - I delivered her and she didn’t make a peep but she was the most alert newborn the doctor had ever seen, they did everything they could and my baby just coo’d and watched; shots and her ears were a different story though, so twice in her entire 3months as of tomorrow. So when I went back to that room and held my precious crying baby my heart sank, they gave her meds though and within five minutes of rocking she was calm and asleep. They had to keep the oxygen mask by her face though because she’d forget to breathe with the medicine they gave her.

We were scheduled for an 29 hour stay, but were sent home after about an hour because she was doing so well.

As you know, it’s been a week since surgery - she’s done so well. She didn’t cry once we got her home, nor did she fuss. She’s no longer spitting up or vomitting and passing bowels normally. I’m so pleased that this really did help her. We removed the bandages today and the only proof is a itny incision right in the lining of the belly button, she seemed pleased to get that off of her though.

I will be posting a bunch of pictures of Sawyer here shortly to show all you wonderful people just how big and sweet she’s gotten, included will be some of her on surgery day.

I’m also going to be back to blogging regularly now, but I’m thinking of doing so with a new tumblr (I like fresh and clean); if you have any ideas of a new tumblr name for this mama, let me know!
